Coach Kimberly Selvey and her Wapakoneta high school volleyball team have been on our calendar since January. Their event date finally arrived this week and we were thrilled to be able to serve a full day challenge course experience with her team. They participated in our low ropes course in the morning, had lunch and participated in the high ropes course in the afternoon. Coach Selvey had the following remarks to say about her experience:
“Attending the AIA challenge course was a huge benefit to my team. The activities and experiences that my players participated in helped them build trust in each other, use their communication skills, and to encourage each other. I saw a lot of growth in all my players, whether they learned from a struggle or how to push through to complete a task, it was beneficial for them to have this opportunity.
I definitely plan to bring my team back in the future because of the ease of the planning process (thanks, Brandon). I also believe that the activities were not only physically challenging, but made them use their thinking skills to complete the tasks. The staff was very encouraging and did a great job leading the debriefing sessions after each activity so that my players could see how to apply these skills to the court too.
I have already recommended this to other teams in my school because of the experience that I had. It was exactly what my team needed before starting our season and I think can be beneficial for all sports teams.”
